An evening dancing at The Rising Sun, Alternun – “sun” was not the operative word in this case as it moved between rain, drizzle and (in response to our sunny dancing!) merely wet!

We stuck the musicians under a tree and the audience clung to the walls of the pub but the dancers were out in the road so just got wet. Not that this stopped us! We progressed through our usual repertoire, Ow Tevi, Bear Down Man, Lovers’ Green, Boscastle Breakdown, Bonnie So Blue, September 4th and Upton-on-Severn. There were enough dancers, and space, to put on a couple of sets of most dances which was great.

Finishing with a Tinners’ Rabbit we managed to drag a number of willing spectators in to join us as the rain had largely died by then.

Despite the weather, a fun evening at a lovely location!
