May Day 2026 and the start of a new season – and the first season for some of our new members! We fielded 19 dancers and 9 musicians to dance down the sun (we can’t get up early!).
We danced our Ow Tevi*, Bear Down, Lover’s Green*, Geevor*, Harbourside*, September 4th, Boscastle Breakdown*, Upton Upon Severn, Cider Stomp*, Feywild* and Tinners.
Our plan is to slowly move to a repertoire consisting mostly of our own dances (marked with a * above). This year, Feywild is new and very exciting.
Of course, as the start of the seaons we also had to call Morsterren back from her winter at sea to come and dance with us.
Ode to Morsteren
From icy waves and winter’s sway,
Our Morsterren dances home today.
Fins to feet, and salt to song,
The sea has kept you, yet not for long.
Jingle and whistle, bells that ring,
Morris steps in springtime bring.
Selkie heart beneath the skin,
Back to us, your dance begins.
